One of our featured trees is the North American Pawpaw (Asimina triloba), the largest edible fruit native to the United States.

Native to North Carolina, the Pawpaw naturally grows as an understory tree in wooded areas but thrives in full sun once established. It produces a delicious, creamy fruit with a tropical flavor often compared to banana, mango, and vanilla.

Pawpaw trees are hardy, naturally deer-resistant, and serve as the exclusive host plant for the beautiful Zebra Swallowtail butterfly, making them an outstanding addition to any landscape.
